DIGGERS MMC Membership

1.    To be a “FULL” member of the DIGGERS Military Motor Cycle Club you must be over 18 years of age and have completed your minimum initial Military service period. You will be a serving or have been an ex-serving member of the Australian or Commonwealth Forces and hold permanent residency or Australian Citizenship.

2.    Individuals who have completed less than 3 years service who were discharged for combat or deployment related reasons will be considered on an individual basis. Members of the Reserve Forces are required to have completed 4 years reserve time minimum.

3.    DIGGERS MMC is a law abiding MC and although minor infringements will be considered, anyone who has served a period in Prison be it for military or civilian related offences will not be eligible for membership.

4.    You will be an owner of a road worthy, road legal motorcycle with minimum 3rd party insurance which exceeding 600cc engine capacity. NO DIRT BIKES OR SCOOTERS AT ALL!

5.    As a full patch member you will be required to attend regular monthly club function and meetings. Active service members will be waived. Members not on active service or deployed who do not attend regularly over a nominated period will surrender their colours and subsequently be asked to leave.

6.    CLUB COLOURS ARE ON LOAN TO THE MEMBER AT ALL TIMES AND A ONE OF LEASING FEE IS REQUIRED.

7.    When becoming a Full member you will need to consider this MC as a way of life. And although determining factors can change a member’s point of view, which will always, be given the full support of the Committee. That said if you do wish to move on; YOU WILL be required to return the DMMC colours as a mark of respect if you no longer wish to continue with the club.

8.    As such there is a fairly strict and none too short, probationary or ‘Nominee’ period, during which the nominee will be required to show commitment to the Chapter and demonstrate the ability to fit in. This nominee period is designed to act as a deterrent to any ‘patch collectors’. The finer details of this period will be explained to any prospective members.

9.    Finally the DIGGERS MMC has no intention to recruit any individual from any of the recognised MC’s. That said if a person from another club wishes to join DMMC he will be welcomed as long as he has stepped away from his previous club for a minimum 3 months prior to approaching the DMMC as well as meeting the above conditions.

10.                       All details will need to be documented visually and verified by the DIGGERS MMC Committee.
